We Say Stop

A Visual Campaign Against Gender Violence

Project overview

The triptych poster and its kinetic version were created for the awareness campaign We Say Stop, the graphics to combat violence against women. The intention of these artifacts is to focus on those forms of language often found in song lyrics, recognizing that they’re not just lighthearted words but reflect real events that happen every day. It's important to give them the weight they deserve, rather than reinforcing or normalizing them.

Initially, such forms were identified in common stereotypes, and later focused on lyrics from contemporary music as it is a communication channel close to the younger generations, who are the target audience of this awareness campaign.

Concept realization

Ispiration

The design takes inspiration from the Spotify interface, allowing viewers to read some of the selected lyrics, including "Lasciami Leccare L’adrenalina" by Afterhours, "Pornoromanzo" by Brunori Sas, and "3 messaggi in segreteria" by Emis Killa.

Graphical elements

In the background, several images are intentionally treated to be difficult to recognize at a casual glance. However, by focusing and viewing the poster from a proper distance, one can discern women's faces juxtaposed with still life objects. This choice aims to subconsciously evoke a disturbing sensation in the audience, metaphorically representing the common difficulty in recognizing situations where gender violence occurs.
